The meeting is a continuation of the series started on occasion of OGF conferences and an extension of previous bilateral interoperability efforts. It is also a part of OSG's international outreach and education activities with Scandinavia, which includes three activities that cover different groups of young researchers and groups with whom OSG is collaborating. These activities are: Interoperation of the Nordic DataGrid Facility and Open Science Grid to ensure transparent access across the two infrastructures for data movement and job scheduling; application support for the IceCube collaboration and joint grid training.
Please fill a simple Registration Form to let us know how many are coming.
The meeting will take place at the NDGF Headquarters, located 700m from the Copenhagen Kastrup Airport:
NDGF/ NORDUnet a/s
Kastruplundgade 22
DK-2770 Kastrup
DENMARK
From the airport arrival hall (Terminal 3, bottom of the map), cross the motorway, turn left and walk ~3 minutes until you hit the pedestrian bridge over the railroad and the highway; cross the bridge and keep walking straight along the street for ~10 minutes until you come to a small square. On your right hand will be the Quality Airport Hotel Dan, and on your left hand - a NETTO department store. NDGF premises are right above the store. Entrance is via the arched gate in the middle of the building, ring the bell at the door.
You can stay at the mentioned hotel, or any place downtown Copenhagen: you can commute to downtown either by bus, or by the airport commuter train. You can also rent a car at the airport, if you stay downtown.
Some essential facts:
- Unless you carry a US or EU passport, you may need to check whether you need a visa to Denmark.
- Denmark uses its own currency, Danish Krona - Euros are not accepted. Foreign credit cards are not accepted in many shops, so it's a good idea to have some cash.
- Voltage is 220V, power outlets are mostly standard EU ones.
- Weather in December used to be quite nasty: humid, windy and around 0 Celcius; snow is unlikely. Wear some robust boots; scarf, gloves and a hat can be handy.
